Terms & Conditions

Last reviewed: October 2026

These terms apply to all quotations given and work carried out by Newton Extensions Ltd (“we”, “us”). Company number 15992775, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 53 Cookridge Drive, Leeds, LS16 7HP. Every project is also governed by a written contract that we sign with you before work starts; where the written contract and these terms differ, the written contract applies.

1. Quotations

  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued.
  • Quotations are based on the drawings, specification and site conditions known at the time. Work that could not reasonably be foreseen (for example unexpected ground conditions, hidden defects or changes required by Building Control) will be priced separately and agreed with you in writing before it is carried out.
  • Prices include VAT where applicable and the quotation will say so.

2. Your right to cancel

If you are buying as a private individual and you agree the contract with us anywhere other than our business premises, such as at your home, or agree it entirely by phone, email or post without meeting us, you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made.

To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14 days are up: email info@newtonextensionsltd.co.uk, write to us at the address below or call 07772 487920. It helps to put it in writing so we both have a record. It counts as in time as long as you send it before the 14 days end. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you do not have to.

If you cancel within the 14 days, we will refund your deposit and any other payment within 14 days of you telling us. If you ask us in writing to start work within the 14 days and then cancel, you pay an amount in proportion to the work we have done up to the time you tell us you are cancelling, worked out from the agreed price, and we refund the rest.

After the 14 days, cancelling is covered by your written contract, and you pay for the work done and any costs we have already incurred.

3. Payment

  • Further payments are made in stages set out in the contract, against work completed. Invoices are payable within 7 days.
  • We may charge statutory interest on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the client is a business.

4. Our obligations

  • We will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill, in accordance with the agreed drawings and specification, current Building Regulations and good building practice.

  • Tell us promptly of anything you are unhappy with so it can be put right.

6. Variations and delays

Changes to the agreed work must be confirmed in writing, with any change to price and programme, before they are carried out. We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, late decisions or supply of client-provided items, or other events outside our reasonable control, but we will always tell you as soon as we know.

7. Guarantee and defects

We will put right, free of charge, any defect in our workmanship notified to us within 12 months of completion. This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, under which services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. Makers’ guarantees on things we supply, like windows and the boiler, are passed on to you.

8. Complaints

If something goes wrong we want to know. Our complaints procedure sets out how to raise a concern and how we will deal with it.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
